Roxie cinema is 100 years old in 2009! It's been an art house cinema since the 70's. In the 60s in was briefly a pornography theater. Currently, it hosts various eclectic film festivals... check the marquee to see what's playing!

Eleanor Harwood opened this contemporary art gallery in September 2006 with an Emily Prince show. Harwood earned her stripes as curator of the Adobe Books backroom gallery. Her awesome program includes several local and emerging artists, such as SFAI alumn Robert Minervini.

This library has an excellent book called 'California's Wild Gardens' in it's permanent collection. Check out the section on Algodones Dunes to see a really cool cactus that looks like it's made of sand.
